A uniform component modeling space

چکیده
ion and levels of abstraction are important concepts in the modeling space, but the terms are rarely used in this paper. The reason is that four kinds of abstraction are part of the modeling space, corresponding A UNIFORM COMPONENT MODELING SPACE Informatica 25 (2001) 475-482 477 to the three dimensions plus views. Instead of using the general ‘abstraction’ term, each kind is discussed in its own context. Each dimension has a range of levels of its kind of abstraction. A brief example will illustrate the modeling space separation of concerns. Suppose we design and build a financial system for First National Bank (see Figure 2). The system interacts with customers in setting up and using accounts, and sends certain reports to the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB) on a periodic basis. The system consists of hardware, software, and manual operations performed by customer service representatives. The software portion of the system consists of customer management and account management. Account management is composed of two parts: accounts and account transfers. In the course of developing this system, we specialize the party management facility defined by OMG for our customer management need, and then as we move into implementation, we find and incorporate a customer management component that satisfies our requirements for that part of the system. We develop the account management part, but when we are done, we decide this is a general capability that multiple banking systems could use. We generalize account management and make it available as a component with accompanying specification. First National Bank Financial System

Uniform connectedness and uniform local connectedness for lattice-valued uniform convergence spaces
We apply Preuss' concept of $mbbe$-connectedness to the categories of lattice-valued uniform convergence spaces and of lattice-valued uniform spaces. A space is uniformly $mbbe$-connected if the only uniformly continuous mappings from the space to a space in the class $mbbe$ are the constant mappings. We develop the basic theory for $mbbe$-connected sets, including the product theorem. Furtherm...
متن کاملIntroduction to the Slide Modeling Method for the Efficient Solution of Heat Conduction Calculations
Determination of the maximum temperature and its location is the matter of the greatest importance in many technological and scientific engineering applications. In terms of numerical calculations of the heat conduction equation by using uniform mesh increments in space, large computational cost is sometimes countered. However, adaptive grid refinement method could be computationally efficient ...
متن کاملA COMMON FRAMEWORK FOR LATTICE-VALUED, PROBABILISTIC AND APPROACH UNIFORM (CONVERGENCE) SPACES
We develop a general framework for various lattice-valued, probabilistic and approach uniform convergence spaces. To this end, we use the concept of $s$-stratified $LM$-filter, where $L$ and $M$ are suitable frames. A stratified $LMN$-uniform convergence tower is then a family of structures indexed by a quantale $N$. For different choices of $L,M$ and $N$ we obtain the lattice-valued, probabili...
متن کاملTracing the Line of Thought on the Responsive Workbench
Traditional 3d modeling software utilizes a complex interface that restricts free conceptual thinking. We have developed an alternative approach that is based on making marks with the body in space. This simplified interface reduces cognitive overhead, enhancing the conceptual development of geometric shapes. This system uses the Responsive Workbench to display geometry in the space of the user...
متن کاملInterval estimation in a finite mixture model: Modeling P
The performance of interval estimates in a uniform-beta mixture model is evaluated using three computational strategies. Such a model has found use when modeling a distribution of P -values from multiple testing applications. The number of P -values and the closeness of a parameter to the boundary of its space both play a role in the precision of parameter estimates as does the “nearness” of th...
